The Underground Collective is a group of artists who united in 2004 to provide an outlet for information and ideas. Our creations include a sustainable line of organic cotton apparel, custom screen printing services, and various independent media projects. The movement is centered in Ithaca, New York, with correspondents across the country.
The business began when a small group of artists from Ithaca, New York decided to unite and to make a few T-shirts for fun. We traveled around the country selling our designs at various art festivals and small stores. All was going well until we grew tired of dealing with the unhelpful and over priced screen printing companies in the area. We quickly realized that the only way to get our artwork printed with the love and care we desired was to do it ourselves. We invested in a screen-printing press in 2005 and became completely self-sufficient in the production process. The UG Collective line of sustainable streetwear is a collection of our favorite hand-printed designs, featuring the work of artists from around the globe. Only premium quality organic cotton is used in the T-shirts (no chemical fertilizers or pesticides found here). Each style is originally designed and hand printed with care. The result is a downright delicious shirt you will feel good about wearing - organic cotton ART as we like to call it. The UG Collective’s printing and graphic design team can also use its knowledge to help you create the perfect garment. We offer logo design, non-toxic and conventional ink choices, and custom labeling to help your organization through the process. To learn more about our custom work and printing rates visit our sister website: www.nekapparel.com . What began as a small idea has blossomed into a global artist collective and a socially responsible business team. We hope you enjoy our t-shirts and our site...
